                                         Questions and Answers

If you have a question that is not answerd by any of these or throughout our website please feel free to contact us at any time!

Q: Where are you located?

A: We have two locations, our Monday-Thursday classes, Beginning Agility, Beginning through Competition Obedience, Rally and special classes are held at the BeBop Barn off HWY 26 near 267th St in Gresham, OR. Our Friday drop-in Agility classes are held at Triple C Arena across the HWY off Telford on SE Callister St.

Q: What training style does Absolutely Magic use?

A: At Absolutely Magic we use realistic positive reinforcement meaning, we reward the desired behavior while we will occasionally give minor corrections for inappropriate behaviors as a last resort.

Q: I just want to have fun with my dog, can I still attend classes?

A: Absolutely! We encourage everyone and anyone to come and interact with their dogs. Our classes are geared toward having a blast with your dog, whether you want to compete or just have an engaging activity to do with your best friend on four legs.

Q: Does my dog need to have any prior training to join the Beginning Agility Class?

A: We do not require any prerequisites for the Beginning Agility classes. The goal in this class is to teach the dogs to safely and correctly execute agility equipment while having fun doing so. We do work on some basic skills during the agility class but no prior experience in formal classes is needed.

Q: What breed of dog do I have to have to take classes?

A: We welcome all breeds and mixed breeds into our classes. There is no reason the smallest Chihuahua and the largest Great Dane can’t do agility, obedience, tracking or rally.

Q: My dog is scared of many things, would he be a good candidate for any classes?

A: With positive reinforcement dog training the dog learns to do the correct behavior without worrying about doing anything wrong. This builds confidence in their whole lives. Agility is a particularly great way to build confidence in a dog, as they must overcome some very different ‘obstacles’ in the class.

Q: Can my young child take classes with our dog?

A: YES YES YES!! We encourage people of all ages to interact with their dogs through formal classes. It builds the relationship between the person and dog. We do have occasional classes for young kids, ages 7-15, so they can learn together how to care for and train their dogs. That being said, we do welcome kids in our regular classes too.

Q: My dog and I need some extra help outside of group classes, what can be done for us?

A: We offer private lessons on a limited basis, due to time constraints. We can do privates as a weekly session or as a single session. Space and times are limited so please be flexible.
